Built by representatives of the English brand Meccano on the Iberian peninsula, Palouzié and Novedades Poch, on the occasion of the 1929 Barcelona World Fair, 9,832 pieces, 8,623 screws and many hours of work were needed for its construction.
"Meccano", created by Frank Hornby, an office worker from Liverpool, was a game based on the principles of mechanical engineering. Radically innovative, it was soon to become a success and led to a significant change in educational toys. In 1912, the manufacturer opened branches in France and Germany, followed by the United States the next year. In 1919, the company Palouzié secured distribution rights for the Iberian Peninsula and, in 1930 along with Novedades Poch, they started to make "Meccano" components in Barcelona.
