H0 scale analog model railway. The uniqueness of this model is that the locomotives work with a catenary, which means that the electricity powering them is transmitted overhead, in this case along a copper wire. Among many other details, the model includes copies of the rack and pinion train in Núria, the funicular in Vallvidrera and the Montserrat cable car.
The set also includes several locomotives, such as the electric HAG that is a copy of the Re 4/4 from the company operating the Swiss Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon; the Märklin diesel locomotive that represents the 202 series of the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges, and the other Märklin steam locomotive that represents the BR 18 478 belonging to the German company Deutsche Bahn.
The model was built by Andreu Costa Pedro between 1995 and 2013. A great train enthusiast, he purchased one train and tracks at the beginning of the sixties to fulfil a childhood dream. In 1964 he built his first model. Ten years later, he built a second, larger one. Finally, once he had retired, he built this large model. As well as building the circuit and the electrical installation, he also made items of the landscape, such as mountains, bridges and lakes, and different stations to give the model added realism and detail.
