Sol solet is the title of a popular Catalan children’s song. In 1978 the theatre company Comediants premiered the show Sol solet, a fantastic journey by a group of actors in search of Utopia, represented by the sun. This visual and poetic performance combined theatre, circus, puppets, shadow theatre, “giants and bigheads” and other elements, accompanied by music created by the group Companyia Elèctrica Dharma. The music of the popular children’s song led the audience to see the conflict of the sun against the clouds, the courtship between the sun and the moon and the establishment of the annual cycle of the seasons. This show was created to be performed in the street in itinerant form, and a theatre version was developed later
