Nowadays toys are not only objects for entertaining children but have become works of art and collectors’ items. The aesthetics and production systems of toys have influenced many objects of everyday use in our homes.
This area displays objects freely inspired in toys, notably the Pino funnel (with a picture of the popular character Pinocchio), made by Alessi in 1998, or the plate with a small house in the middle which becomes an island when the soup is served, made by Axis between 2000 and 2010. There are also kitchen utensils and moulds, tableware like salt and pepper pots, along with plates and bowls, lighters, keyrings, CD racks and even a hot water bottle with a design by Andy Warhol.
