JAPANESE MECHANICAL TOYS

The first toys with galvanic batteries first appeared in Japan in the late 1950s. They were capable of repeating long sequences of movements, which made them highly successful in the international toy market.

The amusing Bartender, who mixes a cocktail and then drinks it, is a noteworthy item manufactured by Nomura Toys in 1962. Piggy Cook, a little pig who cooks, was made in 1955 by Kiyoshimaya and is also worth a mention.
